Description:
Used to describe the high-threat non-boss enemy units from certain maps, generally refers to the enemy elite units enhanced by various buffs from the "Contingency Contract" event.
Usually the contract tags and the horrible stats are attached to the meme pics.
Examples:
You will be crushed at the Ruin of Chernobog (referring to the Avengers)
You will MELT in the Unknown Desert (referring to the Acid Originium Slug)
You will get smashed on the Broken Avenue (referring to the Rockbreaker Leader)
Origin of this meme:
Back in May 2019, when the game was just released, the Hateful Avenger (aka. red katana bro in CN communities) from the Annihilation 2 Lungmen Outskirts was considered as a major challenge to new players.
His ability to increases ATK and AS significantly when HP is under 50% made him a great threat to player's defence line. Defender units gets totally shreded when they weren't leveled-up enough or the units weren't stacked properly. Players sometimes gets to watch him break through and unable to do anything about it.
So during this period, meme pics about the Hateful Avenger were created, such as that D'Angelo Dinero one above.
However, as dokutahs gradually complete their team build and obtain more and more powerful operators, the Hateful Avenger becomes no longer a threat to most of the players.
Hateful Avenger's fame battle was in the first Contingency Contract event released on November 19, 2019.
With the stats surge brought by various contract buffs, Hateful Avenger acquired the capability to deal more than 6k damage in just one hit and easily destroy even the tankiest defender in the entire game, chop through player's defence line as if they were made out of nothing but cheese.
It became a nightmare for many dokutahs, and reminded them of the early days, when they were still noobies and watched Hateful Avenger smashed their defenders and guards back in Lungmen Outskirts.
So many variant of red katana bro meme was created.

"THE LORD OF WAR IS BACK".
On March 17, 2020, the Contingency Contract "Operation Barrenland" event was released, and the map "Sector 59" was brought back to the game. Meanwhile, new maps with new enemy units also brought even more severe challenges to players. Hence the meme from the first CC event also evolved into many variants.
